IBM wants to have fun with artificial intelligence by reducing staff

This time, the American technology company International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) wants to reduce the workforce and leave the work load to the hands of artificial intelligence (AI).

And for that purpose, IBM has stopped the recruitment process at present. The company plans to lay off 7,800 workers in the coming years. They will be replaced by artificial intelligence.

In a recent interview with the media, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said that the organization has undertaken a plan to cut one-third of its workforce. He claimed that due to the development of artificial intelligence, those workers have now become redundant.

Arvind Krishna also informed that there are about 26,000 employees who are not directly involved in customer service. In the next five years, 30 percent of their work will be done through AI or automation.
